Flourish Australia are starting up new services with the Inclusive Employment Australia program and we are looking for Employment Support Specialist to join the team!
The position available is:
- Ongoing Full-time (76 hours/fortnight)
- Working Monday to Friday
About the Role
The Employment Support Specialist collaborates with the Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program team to help employers interpret the Modern Award system and implement reasonable adjustments for job placements. This role requires staying updated on relevant legislative, Award, and regulatory changes, and responding appropriately.
The Employment Support Specialist is a hands-on role responsible for the provision of human resources support to key stakeholders and employers.
Drawing on Flourish Australia's expertise in employing people with lived experience, the types of human resource support provided may include:
- Supporting IEA program teams with responsive and accurate People & Culture support and advice.
- Ensuring that all organisational activities and operations in connection with the employment of staff are conducted in compliance with relevant legislation.
- Supporting the development and implementation of human resource initiatives and systems.
- Supporting employers with position descriptions, employment contracts, and leave forms.

As a provider who is currently exceeding expectations in job placements and outcomes, we are excited to be able to start delivering services on the NSW South Coast, Wollongong, New England and Brisbane areas, as well as in the areas were we’re currently delivering DES in the Sydney region, Hunter and Broken Hill (see screening question 2 for full list of sites).
Selection Criteria
Essential:
- A relevant degree in Human Resources or similar.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate flexibility with shifting priorities and workload demands.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, and ability to handle high volume of work with accuracy, attention to detail and to simultaneously adjust to varying assignments and workloads.
- Have a strong commitment to, and understanding of, recovery-oriented practice in the workplace.
- Have good knowledge of industrial relations legislation, the National Employment Standards, the Fair Work Act 2009, and the Modern Awards system.

Please note - Successful candidates must maintain a Class C drivers license and proof of comprehensive insurance must be provided when required. You may be directed to use your private motor vehicle in the course of performing your duties when an organisational pool motor vehicle is unavailable. You will receive the Travelling Transport and Fares Allowance when using your private vehicle for work related purposes.
Position will need to be based on site in one of our following offices: Bega, Bankstown, Broken Hill, Caringbah, Maitland, Tamworth, Surry Hills, Seven Hills, Penrith, Caboolture, Ulladulla, Wollongong, Harris Park or Hornsby.
