Flourish Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Clinician to take on a clinical lead role within a multi-disciplinary residential service!
The position available is:
- Full-time (76 hours/fortnight)
- Working Monday to Friday

About the Location
The HASI Plus program provides support to individuals across the Tamworth and Hunter region. This is an autonomous role that offers flexibility in managing your own schedule. The position is primarily based in Tamworth, with some travel required to the Hunter.

Step into a pivotal clinical leadership role with one of Australia's most respected mental health support providers. Based in the New England and Hunter regions, the Mental Health Clinician with the HASI Plus program offers the chance to make lasting impact in the lives of people with complex mental health issues. HASI Plus is a dynamic, collaborative residential support initiative delivered by Flourish Australia in partnership with the Hunter New England Local Health District.
As a Mental Health Clinician, you'll be at the heart of this mission - offering expert clinical guidance, championing recovery-oriented care, and working closely with participants, families, carers, and a broad network of stakeholders. You'll also play a key role in shaping service delivery through in-house training, strategic partnerships with NSW Health, and ongoing professional collaboration across the allied health sector.
The key tasks and responsibilities will include but is not limited to:
- Plan and coordinate clinical services relating to people accessing HASI Plus.
- Provide clinical support, direction and education to other staff as required.
- Analyse and report on HASI Plus Clinical supports performance across designated areas.
- Work in close cooperation with the Local Health District Mental Health Clinician to jointly plan clinical care and rehabilitation for the people accessing our service.
- Meet all policy, contractual and legislative requirements and ultimately achieve good outcomes for the people who access HASI Plus.
- Ensure positive, ongoing and productive communication between Flourish Australia, the HNE LHD and any relevant stakeholder/funding body, as required.
- Ensure that all engagement, assessments and support planning with people who access our services are recovery-focussed, least restrictive, culturally appropriate and accessible to the individual.
- Actively participate in relevant clinical activities including direct support, assessment and support planning, case conferences and reviews.
- Utilise allied health qualifications and experience to enhance the service offering across Tamworth and Newcastle sites.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Flourish to provide clinical advice and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Engage state-wide local health district representatives to promote services and generate referral.
About You

Please note - Successful candidates must maintain a Class C drivers license and proof of comprehensive insurance must be provided when required. You may be directed to use your private motor vehicle in the course of performing your duties when an organisational pool motor vehicle is unavailable. You will receive the Travelling Transport and Fares Allowance when using your private vehicle for work related purposes.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
-
- Possession of tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy or other allied health disciplines recognised by the tertiary mental health services sector
- Eligibility for membership of the appropriate professional body (e.g. APHRA, AASW)
- Specialist mental health skills and experience working in a clinical setting.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and expert knowledge of data information management systems.
- Ability to assess performance deficiencies and invoke reasonable effective and supportive programs for improvement
- Advanced understanding and demonstrated application of recovery-oriented services
- Maintain a current Australian Driver’s Licence
